Mortgage shortfall fear hits 50% of interest-only borrowers

NEARLY half of people with interest-only mortgages have no investment in place to repay the capital, new research shows.

Of the affected 2.9 million homeowners, 45 per cent have nothing in place - rising to 90 per cent of borrowers during the last five years.
